AI meeting assistants with real Windows apps
Updated November 4, 2026
Meeting-AI tools are built Mac-first, and Windows users get used to “coming soon.” If you’re on a Windows laptop — which is most of the hiring, sales and consulting world — here’s what actually ships a native Windows app today, what’s Windows-11-only, and where Microsoft Teams quietly falls out of the bot-free story. Every claim checked on the vendor’s own pages on 4 November 2026.
The Windows reality check
Checked against each vendor’s own download, pricing and help pages on 4 November 2026 (incogno is ours — judge the table accordingly, every row has a source on the vendor’s site):
| Tool | Native Windows app | What their own pages say |
|---|---|---|
| incogno | Yes — Windows 10 (2004+) and 11 | Live overlay excluded from screen share; no bot joins |
| Otter | Yes — “Windows 10 or later” | Desktop app records bot-free — but Teams isn’t on the bot-free list |
| Granola | Yes | “Available for macOS, Windows, iOS, Android”; notes after the call, no live help |
| Krisp | Yes | Bot-free notetaker + noise cancellation; 7-day trial then paid |
| Fireflies | Yes | Desktop bot-free mode works on Windows; the in-chat consent notice is “not available on Windows” per their guide |
| tl;dv | Yes (desktop app) | Bot-free is audio-only; video needs the bot |
| Fathom | Not yet (bot-free) | “Windows users, you’re up next” — bot-free capture is Mac-only; the old Windows path uses the Notetaker bot |
| Cluely | Windows 11 only | “Cluely does not have support for Windows 10” (their help center); screen-share invisibility requires the $149.99/mo tier |
Why Windows gets the “coming soon” treatment
Most meeting-AI startups ship Mac first: their founders use Macs, and macOS has had polished system-audio capture APIs for years. So Windows users keep meeting the same pattern — a beautiful product page, then “Windows support is on the way.” The irony is that Windows is where the work meetings are: Microsoft Teams ships with the OS-level workplace stack, and the recruiters, consultants and sales teams who need these tools most are disproportionately on Windows laptops issued by IT.
Teams users, read this twice
Teams is the default meeting app of the Windows workplace and it has the weakest bot-free coverage: Otter’s own desktop page lists Zoom, Google Meet, Slack Huddles and in-person for bot-free recording — Teams absent; Fathom’s help center says Teams meetings are recorded “by joining them as the Fathom Notetaker,” bot only. Tools that capture at the system-audio level don’t care which app is playing the sound — that’s how incogno, Granola and Krisp cover Teams, Zoom, Meet, Webex and whatever your client insists on, with nothing joining the call.
What incogno does on Windows, specifically
- Native app for Windows 10 (version 2004+) and Windows 11 — not an Electron port that quietly requires Windows 11.
- A live overlay, not an after-meeting report: transcript of what’s said, AI answers about the conversation, and your question kit or battlecard beside the call — visible only to you.
- Excluded from screen share: share your screen in Zoom, Meet, Teams or Webex and the room sees your slides, not your notes. We publish how the exclusion works and where it can’t.
- No bot, no mic capture, no stored audio. It transcribes what your computer plays; your microphone is never captured and raw audio is never stored.
Download for Windows — the first 30 minutes are the full Pro experience, no card.
Picks by situation
- You run interviews, demos or client calls on Windows — incogno; live help during the call is the whole point.
- You just want clean notes afterwards — Granola’s Windows app, or Otter’s if your meetings avoid Teams.
- Noise-cancellation first — Krisp.
- You wanted Fathom — on Windows today that means the bot workflow; their bot-free app is Mac-only until the “coming soon” ships.
- You’re on Windows 10 — Cluely is off the table by their own system requirements; incogno, Otter, Granola, Krisp, Fireflies and tl;dv all run.
